Bus Rules

  • Children are to be at their bus stop 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time and parents 10 minutes prior to drop off time.  

  • Children and adults must be aware of “the danger zone” (within 10 feet around the entire bus). The bus driver cannot see you when you are in this area.  

  • No parents are allowed on the bus at any point, unless given permission by the driver 

  • Children and adults are expected to obey and respect both the bus driver and each other. 

  • After boarding, promptly take your seat. Remain seated and facing forward while the bus is in motion.  

  • Feet are not permitted on seats and backrests. 

  • Keep all body parts (including hands) inside the bus. Driver will ask to put windows up if this is not followed.  

  • Absolutely no eating or drinking juice, Gatorade, etc on the bus. Water is permitted. 

  • No litter is to be thrown from or to be left on the bus.  

  • Emergency exits may only be used in case of emergency.  

  • Swearing and foul language are not permitted. Do not distract the driver with annoying or loud noises.  

  • No fighting on the bus.  

  • The bus driver has the right to stop the bus if necessary to stop any behaviour that is distracting. 

  • Seating arrangement to be set by the bus driver if driver deems it necessary.  

  • If a road is closed or there is construction, the driver has the right to take a different route, which may result in a change in pick up/drop off time.  Patience is required. 

  • Any costs incurred due to willful damage to the bus will be the responsibility of the child and/or parents.  

 

Riding a bus is a privilege not a right. Please be respectful.
