Our Camp

Over 45 years ago, John Martin had a dream: to create a place where kids from his local community could come together, have fun, and grow in their faith. His vision led him to Conestogo Lake, where, with the help of volunteers, he cleared five cottage lots and transformed a swampy area into the vibrant and thriving Conestoga Bible Camp (CBC). In the summer of 1972, the first group of campers arrived, excited for an unforgettable experience and the opportunity to hear the life-changing message of Jesus.

Fast forward to today, and that original dream is still alive and thriving! CBC has grown into a registered Canadian Charity, running four two-week day camp sessions and an overnight youth camp each summer. But our impact doesn’t stop there! Throughout the year, we host church and small group retreats in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, and we’ve recently launched a short-term discipleship training program for young adults.

Each summer, we have the privilege of serving over 1,100 campers and staff, with the gospel reaching even more people throughout the year. The ripple effect of what began more than four decades ago continues to touch families, churches, and communities, all to the glory of God. And we’re just getting started—thank you for being part of this incredible journey with us!

What We Believe

  • God is Love. He is holy, almighty, sovereign, perfect, creator of all things, one God existing forever in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven, was exalted by the Father and now intercedes for us.

  • The Spirit came to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict the world of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and lives in all Christians.

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God, which is entirely trustworthy and without error in the original writings. It is the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of mankind and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and conduct.

  • That all humans are created in the image and likeness of God, have sinned and are guilty before a holy God. All people are born in sin, but can be declared righteous before God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and be reborn by the Holy Spirit.

  • In the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the saved to eternal life and the lost to damnation.

  • In water baptism as an outward expression of a believer's identification with Christ and commitment to follow Him.

  • The true Church, those who have been reconciled and saved by God’s grace, is a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head.
